Lake Zazari

Lake Zazari, as many claim, is one of the most beautiful lakes in Greece located just 10 km outside of the northern Greek town of Amintaya.

The lake freezes during the winter months and in the summer, it’s surrounded by dense forests, stone houses and alleys, which creates an idyllic atmosphere.

Visit Zazari, a lake filled by the Sklithros stream and smaller watercourses which all flow down from the Verno mountain range.

According to geologic theory, lake Zazari is the remnant of a much larger lake Eordaia, with four lakes emerging from it today- in addition to Zazari, there are also Himaditida, Petron and Vegoritida.
